Our Mission

The American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America seeks to make a significant contribution to the health of local communities by providing grants to support charitable programs at community organizations that work to advance both the physical health of their local citizens and the environmental health of their communities.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) created and funded by America’s non-alcoholic beverage industry and is a reflection of the industry’s long-standing tradition of giving back to communities.

PURPOSE: To support comprehensive, balanced nutrition and environmental programs to create healthy citizens and communities.

ACTIVITIES: Support community organizations that promote balanced nutrition and physical education programs; that educate citizens about the need for healthy balanced lifestyles; and that encourage responsible recycling.

VALUES: The Foundation believes that all constituents – parents, schools, communities, businesses and government – have a role to play in encouraging the healthy lifestyles that are needed to combat obesity, particularly childhood obesity.

  • We look for high-quality community programs that provide meaningful solutions to the obesity challenge by emphasizing balanced nutrition and wellness programs and activities, along with physical activity.

The Foundation believes that all constituents – citizens, communities, business and governments – have a role to play in encouraging healthy environments, by encouraging responsible recycling and other efforts to combat waste and reduce the amount of trash in our nation’s landfills.
